Get ready for a magical adventure, because the happiest place on Earth just got even happier! ✨Imagine stepping through the gates of Disney without breaking the bank, thanks to the magic of points and miles!✨
From plane tickets, to convenient hotel stays, and all the thrilling theme park fun, there’s a secret to using those points for every part of your Disney dream trip. With just a couple of credit cards, you could be planning your ultra-affordable Disney vacation in no time. Let the enchantment begin! 🏰
✈️Plane tickets
When considering flights to either Florida or California, my top airline choice (especially for families!) is always Southwest Airlines. With their low rates, flexible change policies, 2 free bags, and fantastic loyalty program, this is an excellent option for flights to your theme park destination.
My top card choices for earning Southwest Rapid Rewards:
Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card (the lowest annual fee personal card option)
Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card (will NOT count toward 5/24)
You can also consider earning flexible points that can be transferred to airlines like United (to book United flights) or British Airways (to book American Airlines flights).
My top card choices for earning these flexible points:
Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (transfers to United or British Airways)
Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (transfers to British Airways)
🏨Hotels
For your hotel stay near Disney, Hyatt and Marriott are your top two choices that offer great options near the theme parks!
Best hotels near Disneyland:
Hyatt House Anaheim
This is my top pick near Disneyland and is only a 10-15 walk to the front gates!
Hyatt Regency Orange County
This hotel is a bit farther but offers a shuttle service for $6 per person per day.
Fairfield Anaheim Resort
This Marriott hotel is in a great location right across the street from the front gates!
Best hotels near Walt Disney World:
Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin
These two resorts are within walking distance to multiple parks, there is a free shuttle to all parks, and you enjoy WDW benefits like early entry or extended evening hours.
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
Offers a complimentary shuttle to WDW.
Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista
Offers a complimentary shuttle to WDW.
My top card choices for earning Hyatt points:
Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card
My top card choices for earning Marriott points:
🎟️Theme park tickets
Theme park tickets can take a huge chunk of your Disney budget, but there’s a great way to cover the cost of your tickets if you know the right trick!
Using Capital One Venture Miles to cover the cost of this purchase is my favorite way to save on this expense. When you purchase your Disney tickets through a service like Undercover Tourist, this will post as a “travel” purchase on your credit card. You are then eligible to use your Venture Miles to cover that cost!
Let’s say that you have 75,000 Capital One Venture miles. You can use these miles as $750 cash back toward the cost of those tickets. This works with any travel purchase on your Capital One Venture cards!
My top card choices for earning Venture miles:
Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
Bottom line
Your dream Disney vacation doesn’t have to be so far out of reach when you consider all the possibilities to save when using credit card points and miles! And these are just a few examples of how you can save; there are so many other airline programs, hotel options, and even different ways to save on tickets costs, so don’t be afraid to be creative and hunt down the best options and savings for your goals!
