Finding Award Flights with Roame.travel

You know I love the hunt...🕵🏻♀️ There’s such an excitement that comes with finding that ✨perfect✨ award flight and knowing that your whole trip has lined up just right. But there are some flights that are harder to come by, or certain routes I may not be familair with, so that’s when I turn to my favorite award search tool: Roame.travel.
Roame is a free tool that allows you to conduct a search for award seats available on 20+ airline loyalty programs while providing details on where and how to book that flight. While the free version allows you to search for specifc destinations/cities over a 3 day time frame, there is also a paid version that can widen your search by country and can provide a much wider date range of flight options! Don’t worry, I’ll be covering all the details on that amazing search function in this article. 😉
So let’s jump in!
How to search for flights ✈️
You can begin your free search by inputting your origin, destination, and desired departure date. You’ll also see at the top that you can select what class you would like to fly in, or add additional travelers.
Your options will pop up and show you information like what airline the flight is operated by, what program you would book through, points rate, and all relevant flight information. You can also see +/- 1 day at the top to compare rates across multiple days. You know how I always say that flexibility is 🔑? This is another great example of that!
In this example below, you’ll notice that the best option for our chosen route is an Air France flight booked through Virgin Atlantic. 15,000 miles for a direct flight to Europe is a steal! 👏🏻
You can then click on the arrow on the right hand side of the screen to expand even more details about that flight. You’ll see all the transfer partner options here too, which I LOVE, or you can click on the red “Book” button to take you directly to the airline website to book that exact flight. Roame makes it so easy.
Other helpful resources
At the top of the home screen, you’ll find some other resources like in-depth guides, credit card recommendations, and (probably the best free tool) the Discover page. This is the page you go to for some travel inspiration.🌟 They collect the best deals all in one place to show you rates from any airport that you choose from the drop down list during your specified time frame. This is especially helpful if you’re flexible with your destination!
SkyView: a Pro feature you won’t want to miss
The Pro membership for Roame.travel offers many other features to make your award search even quicker and more efficient. And I mean it when I say that this is honestly my favorite award search tool I have ever used. SkyView helped me find business class flights to New Zealand during the time frame I wanted and for a great points rate. And it is so easy to use!
👉🏻When on the home page, toggle on the “SkyView” option. SkyView lets you conduct a borader search, so you can input a single country as your origin and desitnation if you’re fleixble on where you want to visit. This is especially helpful when looking for international business class travel.
For this example search, we are looking for business class deals from the U.S. to France and we are looking at the whole month of October.
SkyView quickly pulled up multiple options for our fall trip to France! 🇫🇷 We can even filter the results down further if we would like to search for nonstop routes, or if we have a points budget, we can filter out any routes that are out of our desired range.
